  1. I am trying to find which line of the Caudill my family comes from…my grandfather was Benjamin Lee Caudill and he died in Oceana WV. Around 1992. He was married to Zetta Mae Brooks..my dad is Benny Lee Caudill. My understanding is my grandfather’s Fathers name was Hugh Lawrence Caudill. My grandfather never spoke much about his father…I believe one of my grandfather sisters was named Mamie

    • My father was your grandfathers youngest brother, their father was Hugh Lawrence Caudill. My dad never talked about his father either. Hugh Lawrence and my grandmother separated, probably in the early 1920s. Hugh Lawrence remarried and had 3 children. One is still with us and I met her at the annual Caudill reunion in Tazwell, VA 4-5 years ago. I am willing to share other info I have and details about the annual reunion if you are interested.

  2. Yes please…sorry it took me so long to respond but I just now saw your reply i never received it. Just did a search on the internet and found your reply. My email is debray52@gmail.com

  3. I am trying to find out about my Great grandmother. Here is what I know, if any one has any information on this please share. My Great grandmother was Minda Caudill she married RJ Warren around 1899. They lived in Rowan County KY. They had 3 children. Bessie Warren born around 1901 and a set of twins around 1902. One of the twins was said to have died during child birth and Minda Caudill also passed from what I heard. The twins were Lucerita and Zucerita.

  4. Looking for information on the William “Billy” & Elizabeth “Betty” Caudill family from Three Mile, KY. They are my Grandparents on my m)other’s side (Eliza Jane Caudill Mullins). My mom’s siblings are Joseph, Lee, Marion, Rosie Osborne and Annie Johnson. Need to know their ancestors, where they’re buried, any Native American blood, etc. Any info is appreciated!

  5. My grandfather was William McKensey Caudill. His house is/was located in Hemloc, N.C. which does not exist any more. His house is still there being used as a barn. I visited several years ago. Located on the Western edge of the state, near Mountain City, Tenn. The family is recorded in the records in the Ashe County Court House at Jefferson, N.C.

  6. Looking for information on Rebecca Jane Caudill married Elihui Blair in Letcher Co. Ky. Would like to know her parents, birth and death if possible.

  7. I’m not real sure if anybody on here has any of the information that I might be looking for, and if you do, I am extremely grateful.
I’ll start by saying, I know virtually nothing about the Caudill side of my family, for which I take my family name from. I grew up in central Ohio, but I spent a lot of time around the river, in the Friendship, and the Portsmouth, Ohio areas around my grandmothers family. As a kid, my grandmother always told me that there were a lot of Caudill’s in Kentucky, and how I was probably related to them somewhere down the line. So…..here I am, at 40 years old, while the bread aisles are being stripped bare, and everybody is buying up all the ammo, because of coronavirus, finally looking for information about a family name that I carry, take great pride in, and know so very little about. Lol!
I’m looking for information about Nelson Caudill, and beyond. Information has been hard to come by, but here are some FACTS that I do know.

Nelson Caudill was my great grandfather.
Nelsons son Arthur Caudill was my grandfather.
Arthurs son Gregory Caudill is my father.
    We all also had/have siblings.

Arthur Caudill, born in Kentucky, and died in car accident in 1980 in Madison County, Mount Sterling, Ohio.
Nelson Caudill, died in 1983 in Scioto County, Ohio. They are both buried at Worley’s Run cemetery in Friendship, Ohio.

Past that……..it’s fuzzy, but it’s said that,
Nelson Caudill’s mother was Mary E Caudill.
And, his father was, Benjamin J Dutton.
It’s also said that Mary E Dutton (Caudill), also sadly passed away while giving birth to Nelson Caudill, in 1895-1897. Nelson’s headstone (Worley’s Run cemetery in Friendship, Ohio), says 1895, but I’ve also seen 1896, and 1897 elsewhere.
    Well……This all lead me to,

    John W (Wesley?) Caudill
    (father of Mary E Caudill)

    Celia Ann Caudill (McBrayer)
    (mother of Mary E Caudill)

    Rev. Jesse Franklin Caudill
    (father of John W Caudill)

    Elender “Nellie” (Caudill) Estep
    (mother of John W Caudill)

  8. I’m looking to get family information on my great grandma’s mother’s side. If I have the I information I gathered so far correct her name was Margaret “Lyons” McCumber ( my great grandma). Her mother’s name was Clara Mae “Swingle” Lyons. Clara‘s (my great grandma’s mother) father was Josiah Swingle and his mother’s name was Hannah “Cordell” Swingle. I read that the last name got changed from Caudill to Cordell. So I hope I’m on the right path!

  9. Working on family tree. Father was Charles Shelton Caudill. Grandfather William A ( Bill) Caudill from Wilkesboro NC.

  10. Does anyone have information on the Hugh Lawrence Caudill line..He was married to Mollie Angie’s Raines.

  11. looking for Milford Caudill and hid daughter Katherine who went to michigan and married Raymond Oscar Skaggs. Any clues would be appreciated.
